How to Nail the Interview

This past week, Mr. David Bolt hosted mock interviews for the PNGE students. Being the Vice- President of a company and having hired many engineers, Mr. Bolt gave the students a good taste of what an interview in the students' near futures might be like. On Friday, our weekly seminar was a reflection of how the interviews went: what went well, and what wasn't so good. Along with the reflection, Mr. Bolt offered several tips and tricks to use during and interview. The first is to ask for a job description, if one is not provided, before showing up to the interview. The second, is to send a cover letter without a resume noting that a resume will follow, then two weeks later sending a different cover letter not mentioning the previous letter and attaching a resume. Third, tailor your interview for what you are applying for. Fourth, at the beginning of the interview, ask the interviewer what are the characteristics of a successful employee, then proceed to discuss how those characteristics apply to you. The last tip is to be honest, but not brutally honest. With theses tactics, nailing the interview is a cinch.
Again, this would not be possible without Annmarie Bolt organizing this or Mr. Bolt volunteering his valuable time. Much thanks is owed to the Bolt family.
