Our chapter just wrapped up a successful week in Los Angeles at the 2020 SPE North American Student Symposium hosted by the University of Southern California. We entered our first ever PetroBowl team in the North America Regional Qualifiers. It was a great learning experience and we look forward to improving in the upcoming years. We also heard from industry professionals Shauna Noonan and Michelle Pfleuger about the growing importance of data science in the oil and gas industry. Lastly, we had an incredible opportunity to get a behind the scenes tour of the THUMS island operated by the California Resource Corp. off the shore of Long Beach, CA. Finally, we would also like to extended an enormous thank you to our sponsors: Saint Francis Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering Department, AquaClear, Welltec, and Range Resources. This trip would not be possible without their generous donations.
